1. Overview
Stay Up ("we", "us", or "our") is a public ranking and listing platform for software products and online projects. This Privacy Policy explains what information we process when you browse the leaderboard, visit a listed project, submit or boost a project, or otherwise use the Service.
Stay Up does not provide user accounts. We limit the information we collect to what is needed to operate rankings, process submissions and payments, prevent abuse, and maintain the Service.
2. Information we process
Project and submission information
When a project is submitted, we process the URL and category you provide. We may retrieve public metadata from that website, including its canonical URL, name, description, and icon. Published project details, category, ranking, scores, and launch information are public.
Audience and ranking activity
We process project impressions and outbound clicks to calculate rankings, measure activity, deduplicate events, detect bots, apply rate limits, and prevent manipulation. These records may include a pseudonymous visitor and network hashes, IP address, User-Agent, approximate location supplied by our hosting provider, page-session and event identifiers, the project and leaderboard surface involved, timestamps, BotID results, qualification status, and rejection reason.
The random visitor identifier stored in your browser is hashed before it is saved with traffic events. Hosting and network providers may also process technical information such as IP address, request headers, browser or device information, and server logs for delivery, security, and reliability.
Payment information
Checkout is handled by Dodo Payments. Dodo may collect payment, billing, contact, tax, and fraud-prevention information under its own policies. Stay Up receives and stores information needed to reconcile a purchase, such as checkout and payment identifiers, amount, currency, status, timestamps, and payment webhook records. We do not receive or store complete payment card numbers.
3. Cookies
Stay Up uses two first-party cookies:
- stayup_visitor is a random, HTTP-only identifier kept for up to 90 days. It supports traffic deduplication, ranking integrity, rate limiting, and abuse prevention.
- stayup_submission is a temporary, HTTP-only token kept for up to one hour. It connects a submission preview to the checkout that publishes it.
These cookies are not used for cross-site advertising. You can delete or block them in your browser, but traffic qualification, submission, or payment features may not work correctly.
4. How we use information
- Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service.
- Retrieve, publish, rank, and moderate project listings.
- Measure qualified impressions and clicks and resist artificial activity.
- Prepare checkout and reconcile payments, refunds, and disputes.
- Diagnose errors, enforce our Terms, and comply with law.
We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party targeted advertising.
5. Public listings and external links
Project listings are public and may be indexed by search engines, shared, copied, or viewed outside Stay Up. Do not submit confidential, personal, or sensitive information as listing content.
When you follow a listing to an external project, that project may receive information normally sent by your browser, such as your IP address and referrer. The project is independent from Stay Up, and its own privacy policy applies.
6. How information is shared
We share information with service providers only as needed to operate the Service. These include providers for hosting, databases, network delivery, and payment processing, including Neon and Dodo Payments.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Service, or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets.
7. Data retention
Raw impression and click records are scheduled for deletion after 30 days. Aggregated daily statistics and ranking history may be retained longer because they no longer need the raw event record to support the leaderboard.
Submission previews expire after one hour. Expired, unconverted drafts are scheduled for deletion after a short cleanup window. Published listings, payment records, webhook records, moderation logs, and related records may be retained as long as reasonably necessary to operate the Service, preserve transaction history, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Backups and infrastructure logs may remain for a limited additional period.
8. Your choices and rights
You may delete Stay Up cookies through your browser. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or obtain a copy of personal information, or to object to certain processing.
Because the Service is anonymous and traffic records use pseudonymous identifiers, we may need information from you to verify and locate a request, and in some cases may be unable to connect a record to you. Requests about personal information or a project listing can be sent through our contact on X.
9. Security, international use, and children
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Our providers may process information in countries other than your own, subject to applicable law and safeguards.
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service changes. We will revise the date above when we do. Your continued use of the Service after an update is subject to the revised policy.
